Alan Winfield left this review about The Fire Engine

The Fire Engine is a proper looking pub that is at the very top end of Church Road close to the road junction.
Once inside there is a large single room with the bar facing, there is a lino floor, there are normal tables and chairs to the front and three tall tables and chairs to the front left, there is a darts board to the front right.
Two TVs were showing the snooker, the rear area is up three steps.
There were two real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Courage Bitter, which was a decent enough drink, the other real ale was Charles Wells Fire Engine Bitter.
The pub opened at 11am prompt and was empty on my visit.

Blackthorn _ left this review about The Fire Engine

A good sized, U-shape pub prominently situated on the crossroads opposite St. George's Park. The right had bar had a raised area that seems to get a lot of use by bands, and there was a ska/punk band setting up on a recent Saturday night visit. Quite a few TV screens about the place, with a plasma in the main bar, a projector off to the right behind the band area and a couple of LCD's up in the left hand bar. Fortunately these were all off on our visit. The walls are covered in pictures and drawings, and there's a dartboard.

Beers on tap were just Gem and Bombadier. A better choice of ciders with Thatcher's Gold, Blackthorn and Cheddar Valley (plus Gaymer's Pear, if you count that as a cider).
