E TA left this review about Stokers

A low-grade estate pub in a very noisy, unappealing setting. It was previously called The Magpies. It’s a 1960s style building with a scruffy car park and a small garden with cheap children’s play stuff. There is a central servery serving three large bars, one with a pool table, and there is a separate skittle alley. Various gaming machines stand idle, presumably longing for the day they are recycled. The atmosphere is dismal and depressing, and it’s really not that welcoming. The only ale on was Doombar, which was in poor condition. There was no real pleasure in visiting this pub, so I shan’t do so again.
