Blackthorn _ left this review about Clifton Wine Bar

A Wadworth’s pub just a stone’s throw from Clifton Village, it’s located a just a few doors away from the Students Union building and is thus a popular spot for students, but not exclusively so and is a decent pit stop for anyone wandering buy.

Despite the fairly modest looking exterior, it’s surprisingly large inside extending back some considerable way, and beyond this is a pleasant courtyard garden which is something of a rarity in these parts. Décor wise it is quite contemporary once you get in, although the exposed stone walling in the entrance passageway has an altogether more rustic feel. There is wood strip on the floor in front of the bar with carpet elsewhere whilst the paintwork is various shades of maroon, cream and green. A plasma screen was showing a football match when we arrived which was somewhat distracting, but fortunately this was soon turned off. There was also some colourful artwork on the walls.

Beers on tap were both from Wadworths with their 6X and Horizon. There was a third pump that appeared unused so there may on occasions be others. Ciders meanwhile were Thatcher’s Gold and Aspall’s Suffolk.
