Sadly, this pub appears to be on its last legs. There are "under new management" and "£2.50 per pint" banners all around the pub but absolutely no customers until I turned up. There are three hand pumps including one of those shiny stainless steel GK IPA jobs, but no real ale. The landlord confided that there was some real ale in the cellar but he knew it wouldn't sell so he was going to pass it on to another pub in the same group where it would. As he pointed out, this is a large pub with a decent sized car park, and the owners will make a lot more by selling it for development as flats than they ever will as a pub. Watch this space...
