Still a Fullers place and not a huge amount of change in the intervening six years, though the pool table has gone. Some papers available. Four pumps, three Fullers ales; HSB (dire), Pride, ESB (so-so). The signs boasted of live sports but there was sign of the Liverpool vs Arsenal match on the box which made Desmond grumble, instead we got Carry on Cleo. We were the only customers and to be honest it wasn’t hard to see why. The Greyhound is the much better bet on this showing.

A single bar Fuller’s outlet. It’s a very ‘local’ pub and the L-shaped interior with unsympathetic knock-through is a fairly sparse affair, broken by a few old photos on the wall of punters past. Spotted an interesting inter-war fireplace with brown glazed tiling and a nice leaded cross-hatch bar gantry. A pool table and dart board were available. The beer range was fairly limited for a Fuller’s house – my Pride was perfectly acceptable though. I guess if you’re local it’s worth a visit but I wouldn’t make a detour for it myself. Rated 5

Beer garden. Friendly staff. Good bar snacks Sunday lunchtime.
