liked the interior of this pub.Feels cosy and warm on a breezy day.Friendly barman.Three cask cask beers but nothing craft on the taps.My Bond brew -Bengal tiger was good and earned its stipes.Outside area was well furnished.

There has been a thorough overhaul here. It’s now a quasi-hipster pub with stripped wood flooring, exposed brick walls and battleship grey paint, as well as a glazed porch area which will cause accidents, I’m sure. Big screens showing the cricket. Four pumps with four on: Wells Gold, Sharps Doom Bar, Fuller's London Pride and Loddon Hullabaloo the latter of which was fine. Burgers and dogs available at fairly sensible prices. Part of the old car park has been turned into a basic garden, with some huts and benches. A very impressive touch is the re-installation of a serving hatch from the bar to this new garden area, which was doing steady business. Whilst the interior makeover is not to my taste, they are at least giving it a go and there’s potential here for it get back to where it was 10 years ago.

New people in here with three ales on the other day, Doom Bar plus local ales from Loddon. Both Loddon ones in good nick too. Previously undiscovered rear patio area (keep going past the toilets). Decent boozer and looking to compete. Take a five minute walk from the newly-opened Caversham exit at Reading BR to check it our en route to the Fox.

Decent locals pub just over the Caversham Bridge. Usually three ales on, quality used to be good back in Owen's day but has slipped well back since - last visit found Otter, Black Sheep and Pride. Likes its football and music. Quite 'locally' but the regulars are friendly enough. Recent addition of Bar Billiards didn't last long.

A reasonable sized pub just on the Caversham side of the Thames, an open and airy interior with various seating dotted around on bare wooden flooring throughout with a pool table at the far end, very clean inside but it gave a slightly clinical feel I didn't quite like, the pub was virtually empty though on a Wednesday lunchtime and I would think it would have a better feel when busier, as I'm sure it does get according to a number of pictures dotted around of customers in various states of joviality.Three handpulls as previously mentioned were all on, but the choice was rather disappointing in my opinion,Fullers London Pride, Sharps Doombar and Youngs Bitter, I had the latter, once a favourite of mine but is no longer the beer it was, although it was presented in very good condition.I didn't dislike this pub, but not a pub I would make a beeline for next time I'm in the area, given the unadventurous beer choice.
