The ale quality is still dire. And the drinks are really expensive as well.

The ale quality is still dire.

November 2015
Been in a couple of times since and found either no ale that wasn't Doom Bar/GK or was so poor I had to take it back. A write-off, avoid.

May 2015
Refurbed, re-opened and re-positioned at the hipster yoof end of the market, with Craft Beer! USB parts! Phone Chargers! And more! In reality the general layout is the old Pavs with some much-needed remedial work and a through paint job. Five keg (or key keg, who knows?) fonts dispensing a fair selection, my Longhorn IPA and Harvistoun Lager went down well enough first visit but last week the one I had (a lager no less!) was murky. So why wasn’t I on the newly-installed ale pumps? Because after the initial promise of local beer, the three labels that greeted me were Deuchars IPA, Greene King IPA and Doom Bloody Bar. Big fat zero for invention there. Whilst there are few new faces in the pub, the less salubrious element are still lurking including a guy who decided to start kicking the toilet door after receiving unwelcome news on his mobile. So essentially what we have at the moment is an outlet that is attempting to ape the Purple Turtles transformation but sort of missing the point. Maybe they’ll get there in time. Or not.

Oct 2010
It's A Scream student venue, with all that that entails. If you like that sort of thing, you'll love it here. No ale, as you'd expect.

Now called the Boundary Bar.Very nicely done up.Warm and inviting modern interior. Two cask beer Doombar and Tea but good selection of keg beers with 3 from Siren.Locals seemed to like the changes as it was very busy.

Shop conversion which, as it retains full glass windows, still feels like a shop. Very much a 'craft beer' venue, with a large selection of keg, tinned and bottled products. Retains one ale on handpump, which should have been Twickenham Grandstand at time of visit but had run out (a lesson here), so diverted to one of the keg brews which was ridiculously overgassed and overchilled (also overpriced). Also appeared to have a couple of fruit ciders on handpump but had lost interest by then. Has a large sports screen and table football, if that is what you want, but otherwise try one of several better venues nearby.

Decent place to watch the football. Had an UBU real ale on, but it wasnt hitting the spot. So I had a couple of Stellas, watched the Albion stuff Chelsea 3-0 and left feeling quite content with the world.

Called in for a quick half yesterday, handily placed next to the bus stop and handily open at 10:00,modern bar as described by Quinno below with the addition of a couple of TV screens showing Sky Sports news with the sound muted, Fridays offerings on the handpumps were Hogsback TEA, Oxfordshire Marsh Mellow and Hobgoblin, or so we thought, The Tea poured perfectly but what came out of the Hobgoblin pump was in no shape or form Hobgoblin, instead a very pale citrusy little number, much more to my taste than the former would have been, there was no recognition from the girl serving that something was amiss, however I was more than happy to drink it, despite the apparent inexperience in matters ale, all the staff were very friendly and several greeted us whilst going about there chores. This bar was actually better than I was expecting and although I would like to see a more adventurous ale range, given its location will likely call in again on my way to Readings destination pubs.

From the outisde looked like an old fashioned pub, on the inside is a big bar type venue! Not exactly unique or exciting in the way of Ales but a decent atmosphere nontheless.
