Quinno _ left this review about The Outlook

Trundling on in much the same vein as it was in 2014, though the guest beers now all taste of Greene King. Hmmm. Last visit saw a single company charge card transaction of £97 on beer (and yes, the second barmaid didn't come out to serve the other customers piling up at the bar).

March 2014
Made-over and re-opened under a new name - The Outlook. Now six(!) ale pumps, dispensing some GK and some GK guest list beers. Quality however has usually been poor. It's a makeover inside as opposed to a full-on refurb, downstairs hasn't really changed and the irritating electronic advertising board still pervades upstairs. Mildly busy most evenings with punters often sat on the outside terrace. Awful over-loud discofied piped music. There's potential here though.

May 2012
Greene King's attempt at sophistication. It's quite nice actually if you can bag a seat at the far end by the viewing window. Two GK list beers, in average condition - unlisted in their otherwise extensive drinks 'menu', which tells you what you need to know! Otherwise it's usually full of keyboard chimps and estate agents on the pull. Downstairs can be hired out for functions.

Moby Duck left this review about The Outlook

A large open plan pub, larger than its exterior implies, Greene King owned its rather a modern bar setup inside as opposed to a traditional pub,the colour scheme being a mixture of greys and white with a little exposed brickwork as well as some floral wallpaper, brightly lit throughout, the flooring a mixture of wood and carpet. Some large windows to the rear overlooking the Kennet.I didn't venture downstairs but according to the signage contains a pool table. Food is offered, general pub grub all under a tenner apart from a lone Ribeye steak straying just the other side of this mark.Six pumps on the bar,two unused on my Saturday morning visit,on offer were Greene King IPA,Old Speckled Hen, Bellhaven Golden bay and Truemans Runner, the latter costing £1.75 a half, tasted as bland as I suspected the three previous choices may have been. I found the Outlook to be a clean reasonable place especially should you be after a bite to eat, but along with an ordinary beer offering its not really my cup of tea and as such,I'm not likely to return.

Clive Thompson left this review about Copa

The Copa is part of Greene King’s new venture into bars rather than pubs. It all looks quite new with nice décor and a good waterside area alongside the canal. Inside there are bars on two floors. GK IPA and Olde Trip were on plus premium lagers and some bottled ciders.
