Set in the ground floor of a quayside warehouse, as mentioned previously this extends back in arches into the hillside. The bar is in the front building and includes a servery for the tables outside. There are a few tables inside which are good for drinking and then the dining areas extend way back in the arches. On handpump were Hanlons Yellow Hammer and Otter, with another clip reversed. Probably best avoided on summer Sundays and the like but not a bad place for a drink.

Imposing waterside pub (presumably an old warehouse or grain store). Set into three arched tunnels that run under the hillside, the long restaurant room is quite a breathtaking set up. There are numerous gluten-free menu items available including pizzas; Exeter appears to be rivalling Brighton in the food allergy awareness stakes. Modern - though tasteful – décor and the outside seating area would be quite summer’s day draw. Four ales (Dartmoor, Exeter Fraid Knot, Otter Ale and Pheasant Plucker) plus the unreal Addlestones Cloudy Cider. My half of Exeter was in decent shape. Despite the appalling squall outside, the place was impressively busy for a Sunday evening and the clientele were on the younger side which is encouraging. Wi-Fi available. The fairly unique interior and local ale selection, plus its proximity to the Hour Glass, make this a worthwhile crawl inclusion.

This is one of those trendy type pubs, that because of it's superb location will always do well, but I have now visited twice, two years apart, and they got the order wrong both times, this time quite spectacularly as they had insisted we preordered before hand, and then still despite having a written order got it wrong!!! Took a long time to serve whole table, resulting in the top of the table having finished before the otyher end had received food. Also, when we asked for an extra chair, the chair never came, so we had to take a chair from another laid out table ourselves after 15minutes of waiting. All in all, nice food, nice location, but they seriously need to improve the service and staff ratio.
