A roadside GK pub with a lively, loud local following, but reasonably sociable with a goo dpub atmosphere. The single bar feels a bit cluttered with all the columns and tables crammed around them. The food was abysmal, even by GK standards, but they did have a reasonable ale selection, and it was well kept – Greene King Fireside, Rocking Rudolph and IPA, and Moynihan Best Bitter. Probably worth dropping in when passing, but it’s not in Cambridge’s top drawer when it comes to crawl candidates.

A busy pub on a main road near the station offering accommodation, with a mixture of Irish, sporting and student feels. The main room has a sanded floor and is mostly laid out for eating, with breakfasts available from 07.30 and various food offers. A side conservatory room is not much different. There are a couple of sofas and much sporting memorabilia decorates the walls, with a few TVs. A number of outdoor benches are available to the side and at the back of the car park. Beers entirely from the Greene King stable, with St Edmunds, IPA, London Glory and Old Speckled Hen on handpump.

Town pub on a busy main road close to the station and newly built flats and student accommodation. There is a distinct Irish feel, the presumed landlord was from the Isle, there are team photos of Cambridge University Gaelic Football teams, pictures and drawings of racehorses and racing dogs. Horse racing was showing on one of the numerous TVs. Boarded floors, mostly regular seating but with some sofas, a fireplace, a side area is a sort of conservatory space. Outdoor seating to the side, shared with the car park and unfortunately dominated by traffic noise. They have accommodation upstairs and in an annexe.
It is a Greene King establishment, beers were IPA, OSH, St Edmunds Ale and one called Amarillo Single hop......I suspect just one hop went in the entire brew. It tasted as all GK beers do. They do food, typical menu stuff. Not my sort of place but not that bad too, my son's university local, a different brewery and range would sway me in the opposite direction, friendly staff and good service.
