The Coach & Four is a large pub with a rustic feel even though it’s just at the edge of the main shopping area of Wilmslow. The left-hand side of the pub is made up of small seating areas, all of which were surprisingly busy during a recent late Monday afternoon visit. A couple of fireplaces burning away added to the cosy feel of this area on a very cold day. The serving counter is found to the right in the centre of the pub where it faces some high tables and some seating under the windows to the left of the front entrance. In the right-hand side is an extension that feels like an open plan dining area. This was empty apart from an old couple who were having their dinner. Externally there is a strip of decking with seating out front and a beer garden is found at the rear.
Premium keg was available and the six hand pumps were double up with three Hydes cask products. One was off leaving Original and Lowry as the options. I grabbed a seat just to the right of the bar counter where one of the staff was answering a steady stream of calls for table bookings, the food must be good. There was some background music playing and there was a decent atmosphere. I wasn’t expecting much from this place, but I actually liked it and would have no issue embarking on a return visit.

A pleasant pub with a deceptively large interior. Multi-areas inside give you a selection of places to sit. It has a country pub feel to it despite its size. 12 handpumps give you a decent selection of beers with a few from Hyde's, a rotating beer from Beer Studio and a rotating guest. A lodge hotel is to the rear. Outside seating is also available.

This pub is in the middle of Wilmslow.
When i visited this pub it was called the New Inn and it is next to sainsburys so it is very handy for shoppers.
Once inside the pub was quite smart and there was a dining area and a normal drinking area, when i went in this pub it was an Hydes tied house and there were two real ales on the bar i had a drink of Hydes bitter and this was ok but nothing special the other beer was Hydes mild.
The pub has now changed names and i am not sure if it is still an Hydes house.
