The Woodpecker is a very large pub found next to a Premier Inn, thus it also acts as its dining area. In fact most of the interior is geared towards dining, but there is a small bar area in the left hand corner. There were ten or so people in here during a recent mid-afternoon visit. The rest of the pub was empty. There was some background music playing and horse racing via ITV was on the television. The bar counter supports standard and premium keg and one of the three hand pumps was in operation drawing Sharp’s Doom Bar. The service, when it arrived, was friendly, but the décor is very bland and the drink selection is poor so there’s no reason I saw to visit here again. In fact I got back to the hotel with plenty of time for a nightcap in here, but decided not to bother.

Currently closed for major refurbishment. Due to reopen as a Cookhouse & Pub. (Whitbread).
EDIT:- Now reopened.
* Not to be confused with Cookhouse,pub & Carvery (in Prestatyn and Liverpool).
