Blue Scrumpy left this review about The Globe

With the Rifleman on the other side of town now closed, we had time for one swift drink in Nantwich and chose the Globe to the south of the town centre.

The car park was busy and customers soon turned out to be all diners, apart from ourselves. With a couple of adjoining rooms, most tables were set out for diners. In fact, I think we occupied the only one that wasn't. Food did smell good and portions were large, but we were saving our appetite for a curry.

3 real ales were on - Beartown Best Bitter & Kodiak & Fuller's London Pride. The Beartown Best Bitter was in good condition. However, this place felt more like a restaurant than a pub. Perhaps it is different at other times.

The Globe has an L-shaped bar that supports a premium keg range alongside six handpumps. During a recent Thursday evening visit half of these were in operation, drawing Sharp’s Doom Bar, Wadworth 6X and Ossett’s Yorkshire Blonde. Seating is available around the bar and by a brick fireplace to the right of the entrance. There is more seating in the left rear, but this looked more like a dining area. Out the front is thin decked area with seating. The service was friendly, but now that I’ve visited I’m not sure that I would be bothered to make the walk south from the town centre again.

Though this is a bit of a walk from the station and the town centre I found this to be a really good pub. 2 roomed, though one room seemed to be set up more for dining. The bar area is nice enough and there is a beer garden to the rear. 10 handpulls on the bar made for a good selection and variety of beers. Beers from Abbeydale, Titanic, Spitting Feathers plus others I've forgotten. Worth the walk out.

Real Ale Ray left this review about The Globe

Woodlands Brewery Tap, and what a big disappointment! Wasn't worth the walk from the station. We tried their Woodland American Pale Ale earlier in the day when visiting Whitchurch, and the beer was fine. The anticipation soon wore off after tasting two of their ales on this visit. There were four ales on handpump, so we went for the Woodlands Ash Blonde and Oak Beauty. Both ales were slop, couldn't believe a brewery tap could serve up such tasteless and flat beer. Couldn't wait to leave. There were four customers on this visit, three were dining and the other drinking Carling.

Always a good pint of Woodlands brewery ales here, food is usually excellent also.
Wish I lived nearer!
