Steve C left this review about Albert's Corner

Albert’s Corner is a large open plan pub with a long bar that runs along the rear wall. I counted four handpumps, however Sharps Doom Bar was the only cask ale option as one handpumps was off and the other two were unused. A standard and premium keg range is also available. Food is also available, burger and chips is £8.
There area seating areas either side of the bar to the left and right and seating also runs along the front of the pub opposite the bar. There is a pool table to the left of the entrance and televisions are located throughout for airing live sports. There was no sport on during my visit on Saturday afternoon so some background music was playing. I found the service to be friendly, but didn’t see anything here that will have me rushing back.

Will Larter left this review about Albert's Corner

A rather soulless place, as befits a former labour exchange. Though arguably it's a good use for a building which it would be a shame to just knock down if it's turned out to be unsuitable for use as a jobcentre. When I was here there were more staff decorating Christmas trees than there were serving at the bar, though to be fair it was quietish. Maybe the three (count them) Christmas trees were part of the reason why the pub was "temporarily closed" only a week after my visit. There were four hand pumps on the bar, and my half of Beartown Brown Bear was OK but nothing special. This sort of pub is really not for me - the fact that it offers a discount to students is a fairly big clue to its target clientele. That and the loud music.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Albert's Corner

Large, modernised pub (albeit retaining some wood panelling), but the main bar area is almost devoid of furniture although several seating / dining areas are available at each end. Various food offers (Albert's light bites, mains and afters) plus Victoria's afternoon tea. Also has a patio beer garden at the back. Four slightly-less-obvious real ales on handpump, ranging from Titanic Steerage, Salopian Renaissance and Beartown Bluebeary to Weetwood Old Dog (£3.00).

Formerly The Waldron. Refitted inside. 4 real ales available. Large open plan interior with very reasonable prices. A bit soulless but decent enough.
