Brainy Pool left this review about The Coach House

probably the worst pub we tried in Chester and yuppie central on a Saturday night. dull beyond dull inside with totally modernised decor throughout and the stench of cooked food lingering in the air. real ales were all bland nationals with Boondoggle the best of the lot.

As noted below it does feel more like a restaurant than a pub once you are inside. A few offshoot areas with armchairs and sofas. Not really that good to be honest.

Opened up one roomed pub, which is very food orientated. The area to the rear is almost a restaurant. All the suppliers of the meat & vegetables etc are listed on the menu which is a nice touch. There's a beer patio out the front which gets very full in summer. There are 6 handpumps, but only 4 beers on, 3 from Thwaites and one from Spitting Feathers. The Spitting Feathers was a good pint. I wouldn't mind calling in again, but it would only be for one.

Real Ale Ray left this review about The Coach House

The only thing that brought me in here was for the Wainwright. It's a fairly none descript Thwaites house, but have to say they serve some decent beers.

Soup Dragon left this review about The Coach House

An end terrace pub in mock Tudor style, half brick and half white and black timber. There was a beer patio.

The interior was open plan, though with a pub area and a food area. The decor was mainly white, with wood floor and an eclectic mix of pictures on the walls. The service was ok and the clientele small, but mixed. Music was a bit charty, but played at an ok level.

Beer; tap stuff, with Thwaites Wainwrights, Original, Lancaster Bomber and a decent enough Nutty Black on handpull, along with Cumberland Ale.

The beer choice is good, the pub a bit more run of the mill. Worth a vist though.

Dale Miles left this review about Coach & Horses

This pub has now changed its name to the Coach house.

It has been recently refurbished and is more like a wine bar than a pub, the old coach and horses was a traditional pub, this one sells continental beers etc. but well worth a visit if you go to the city of Chester on the town hall.
