Large 2 floor bar and restaurant serving 2 real ales, continental beers & lagers. Located opposite the boat pick up for a river cruise and the river taxi to Windsor racecourse.

Well-appointed two level bar/restaurant with nice outside seating and a riverside location, ideal for sunny days. No ale here so gave it a miss. Did eat here a while back and it was pretty good.

Now part of the Browns Bar and Brasserie chain and has been altered quite a bit from the earlier photos shown as it now has a second level added as an upstairs dining area with gallery overlooking the Thames.
Unlike other members of the Browns chain I have been in to eat, this one actually has a substantial bar area and seems to function equally as a bar as it does a restaurant. The bar area was certainly very busy and bustling on last Friday evening when it was our meeting place before partaking in some ice-skating on the nearby Alexandra Gardens.
Fairly lengthy serving area at the rear of the main bar space with lots of chrome continental Lager taps and an extensive wine and cocktail menu. Then lots of comfy sofa type seating which is now complemented by an outside drinking area underneath large umbrellas, which was obviously not being utilised on this freezing cold December evening. And then dining area to left and I believe on the floor above, although I didn’t venture up here.
This is not the type of place I would choose to drink in normally but plenty of the after-work and pre clubbing Winsor crowd were, but it just had the ambience of a place where the upwardly mobile of Windsor go to, to be seen. And you certainly need to be well employed, and I was very thankful that I wasn’t paying for my pint of Peroni.
It probably works better as a bar in summer when you can sit outside and it’s popular with the boat tours or the crowds going to Windsor race course as it does have a great location on the waterfront by the Thames, just in front of where the Thames party boats and river taxi to the racecourse are moored.
