Blue Scrumpy left this review about Royal Standard

With the nearby Harbourside pub being heavily renovated, the Royal Standard now appears to be the only pub in the small harbourside settlement of Flushing.

The pub has more of a cafe/wine bar feel to it these days, with two rooms knocked into one. I was the only drinker in, with quite a few lunching ladies and some couples too. Food smelt good, but I didn't have time to stop.

One of the last vestiges of the pub appears to be the outside gents. With the interior being so short of space, this is something they will struggle to change. However, when the most interesting part of the pub is the gents, I'm going to struggle to score this highly. It was summed up by a middle-aged lady complaining about the strength of her mother's coffee, as I was leaving. During the day at least, this does not feel like a pub. Real ales were Tribute & Atlantic.

Graham Coombs left this review about The Royal Standard

Cosy little local pub, much festooned with nautical bric-a-brac. Quite a strong focus on food with tables and old church seats packed into the one room, but the beer is also in good shape in the form of a couple of changing Cornish ales. There are a couple of benches outside at the front and allegedly a garden at rear. Parking can be tricky.
