Loved this pub. Full of interesting nick nacks and the surface of every wall covered in photos / posters.
Beer was from Tintagel Brewery and St Austell Brewery and in great condition.
Food was excellent - fish finger sarnie, chips and salad for less than a fiver.
A real result.

Boscastle was full of tourist so chilled in here . Dark main bar excellent,maybe some legendry noggins in here.Steady drink a selection of Cornish Fare wish we had stayed longer.

Situated close to the harbour in picturesque Boscastle, amongst the usual array of coffee shops and souvenir shops, and set close up against a steep cliff face, is The Cobweb Inn, a stone built four storey former warehouse that has, apparently, only been licensed as a pub since 1947.
The main bar, at ground floor level, features flagstone and slate floors, low ceilings and dark beams, from which hang a fine and varied collection of dusty jugs, beer bottles and other assorted oddities. The Cobweb Inn gets its name from the cobwebs that still, in some places hang from the ceilings and which, when the building stored alcohol as an off licence in days long gone, used to keep the flies away from the beer barrels. It’s a rather dark, gloomy interior with little natural light. Pictures include some of the Boscastle Brass Band and there’s a framed price list from 1971.
The main bar area consists of two adjoining rooms of similar style, although the second room has several old brewery mirrors – eg Samuel Smith, Bass. Furniture includes a number of large curved settles with rather worn seat covers and several old chairs carved out of tree trunks. Perhaps, oddly, as it’s not a particularly large area, at one end of the room is a snooker table.
Upstairs is a restaurant accessed via a fire escape staircase on the outside of the building. A popular Sunday carvery is served here. There’s also a separate dedicated restaurant area at ground floor level.
Notably, for a pub that gets much of its custom from holidaymakers in Boscastle ( made famous of course by the flooding in 2004 ), live music nights occasionally feature. Pleasingly, there’s still something of a local pub atmosphere with, on my visit, several old Cornish sea dog types propping up the bar.
On the real ale front, like most pubs in the area seemingly, they showcase the local breweries. On my mid-September Sunday afternoon visit, as well as the better known Tribute and Doom Bar, 2 beers from the local Tintagel Brewery were on – Cornwalls Pride and Harbour Lights. Having just walked here on the hilly coastal cliff path from Tintagel, the first pint of Cornwalls Pride seemed to go down without touching the sides. It’s a fine robust darkish bitter.
If you’re in Boscastle, you should try and make time to call in.

Walked in to the most disgusting smell which I couldn't place. Only sell one type of red wine by the glass - Merlot - if you want a different wine you have to buy a bottle. We didnt stay to eat after seeing anemic chips and large amounts of leftovers still on plates. Go to The Welly (Wellington Hotel) around the corner especially for food!

One of Cornwalls most interesting pubs.At one time had hugh cobwebs throughout the building that were occupied by massive spiders,and is said that neither the staff or customers were permitted to destroy a cobweb.The pub is now much more pleasant and it's current unusual features are a large collection of hundreds of colourful old bottles hanging from the beams,and an enormous armchair completely carved out of a tree trunk.I called in one weekday lunchtime and was very impressed with the pubs character and the numerous antiquities on display.I partook in a pint of Tintagel Gull Rock bitter which was not bad at all.I enjoyed my time there although a smile from the landlord would not have gone amiss.
