Just to respond to the previous review this is a privately owned free house. On the previous review it was mentioned that Marstons may had paid for the refurb, this is not the case as myself and business partner own the property and the business investing over £500k into the property. We do on occasions have local beers/ales and are huge supports of local produce. We did have a full new cellar installed with Marstons equipment at no cost to us!!!! So our main drink suppliers is Marstons but with no tie.. I'm not sure where the city centre cocktail bar comment is from? Yes the Refurb is very modern and contemporary but was done with a very warm homely feel in mind..

Originally the Salutation Inn, a name that it has been suggested has religious connotations but is usually illustrated on pub signs with a hunting scene, this is now The Sally. The outside is looking very smart and the interior looks like it has been copied from a city centre cocktail bar. Following a two year closure the pub reopened in December 2016. I received a friendly welcome from the licensee and his trainee server, who got to practise on my half of Wychwood Ripsaw. I presume Marstons paid for the refurb, because there were no local beers on here. The Ripsaw was ok though. There was one other hand pump and six keg taps. It was fairly quiet here - it was the day of the aftermath of the hurricane, with dust suspended in the clouds and causing the sun to appear like an orange when the clouds thinned enough to see it, which maybe was keeping people indoors. This is a quiet village near the airport, which is not the world's busiest. I hope they make a go of it here.
