Alan Winfield left this review about The Argosy

The Argosy looks like a 60s built pub that is situated on Derbys ring road.
When i first did this pub it was a Bass tied house with a couple rooms.
The main entrance is now from the car park on the left side of the pub, once inside the bar faces in what is now a single opened out room which has an irregular shape and a raised area to the right, there is a pool table to the rear right, the room is carpeted and the seating is mainly normal tables and chairs, plus some high bench seating,it seemed very smart and comfortable.
There were five real ales on the bar,i had a pint of Pedigree which was a very nice drink and cheap at £2.55,the other real ales were Black Sheep Bitter,Landlord,Doom Bar and St Austell Tribute, all were priced differently.
The pub does food all day and is quite cheap and looked nice, the breakfasts are even cheaper than Wetherspoons.
The pub was fairly busy on my Tuesday dinner visit with a mix of drinkers and people having meals.
I was quite happy having a drink in this pub again.
