Blue Scrumpy left this review about The Globe Inn

The Globe Inn is a friendly village local that is a deserved winner of local CAMRA pub of the year awards. Opening hours are limited to 5 days a week, with 5pm opening on Wednesday and Thursday.

The pub offers a warm welcome to both villagers and visitors alike. There is an excellent beer and cider range for a village pub and the food offering seems to draw quite a few people in too, with regular events also hosted. I also noted a bar billiards table at one end of the pub.

On my visit, real ales were Otter Ale, Exeter Avocet, Utopian ESB & Country Life Black Boar. A list of ciders (all fetched from the cellar) is available on a printed A4 sheet. The list comprised Sandford Orchards Devon Mist, Honey Wood Orchard Sunshine, Hunts Hazy Dazy & Wobbler, Winleigh Sam's Beautifully Dry & Norcott's Rhubarb Cider. It was very unusual for me to find a couple I hadn't tried previously. Both were served at just the right temperature.

Craft beers included Utopian Yeastie Boys, Two Tribes Dream & Coal Drops & Verdant Light Bulb. There was one other Utopian beer that I couldn't quite see, as locals were crowded around the bar. In fairness, they had little choice as most tables were reserved for diners.

This is a really good pub that is well worth seeking out and was the best I found on a 23-pub midweek crawl of Devon & Cornwall.
