Part of the Marston's Inn brand so a food-led pub which offers accommodation in this area a couple of miles outside of Tiverton. Located by an ancient bridge that carries the A396 over it, the River Exe noisily rushes over the shallow stone bottom underneath making for a rather bucolic setting. Internally, a long rectangular room with a small corner bar which offered three beers from the Marston's portfolio: Brakspear Bitter, Ringwood Razorback and Wainwright's. Razorback was in good enough form (£4.10 a pint). Food is mainly pub grub staples at around the £15 mark. With the Trout Inn currently shut (but due to reopen "soon") it's a Hobson's Choice if ticking this area, but the location gives it a fillup in the rating stakes at least.

Large rambling thatched Marston's pub in a most delightful setting on the river Exe.On a nice summers day you can sit out by the river and enjoy your beer and listen to the peace and quiet. Although the emphasis is on food the Marstons Pedigree was in excellent condition. The "Hawkridge" ham salad was superb and a very ample portion at that.
