A Sizzling Grill, which generally sums it up, with a large and tidy interior mostly aimed at budget family dining but also serving as a local. At the front is a patio garden. Sadly only Doom Bar on handpump, but not in bad condition.

On the outskirts of town and part of The Sizzler chain,it's an unremarkable building with a pubco interior. The open plan layout is split up by many central columns creating distinct areas.Throught the front door the bar is ahead, while to the right is an area where children are excluded. This is where the flatscreen (BBC24 on my trip) and various gaming machines live and this is where the drinkers gathered. The rest of the interior winds around the bar ,with modern furniture everywhere including a high banquette to the left and metalwork art on the walls .The corporate look is maintained by a brown carpet and many purple painted wall sections. The annoying muzak completed the picture.
At the bar were three handpumps with GK IPA (£1.68 the half)while both CW Bombardier and London Pride were "ready soon".If that's the choice on regularly, this wont attract much ale drinking interest.
The food menu appears value priced but only a few small dishes are priced at the advertised £3.69,the median price was around £7.
Outside there are a lot of benches to the front with a jumberella and fine views over the busy A41 junction,to the rear there is a small beer garden beyond the carpark.
I grabbed a quick bite to eat on my way to another meeting ,so it served a purpose but I find it difficult to believe that anyone would see this as a destination pub.

Since the The Plough has changed to a Sizzler the quality of food has got a lot better as well as the service. The food still is standard chain Pub type food but it is very good for the price of it. I can now say that for good meal and a nice place to eat it is pretty good.
----------
As a pub The Plough is pleasant and the decor is modern and fairly stylish. The drinks are good, serving a range of lagers and some draught beers as well. When it comes to food though, it is terrible! We have been recently and the service and food we both awful! It wasn't too bad a few months ago but it has recently got worse. They are having a refit and downgrading the pub from an Ember Inn to a Sizzler, and this may be why it has become so bad.
