Soup Dragon left this review about The Cat and Fiddle

Went here as my wife camped in the back of this pub in the 70s and she wanted to see what it was like - the campsite has gone, it now has a retirement park built on it. The Cat & Fiddle is huge, showing it was once an entertainment complex, which it still remains to some extent.

The exterior is a fantastic looking brick/stone build, with childrens play area and beer garden.

The interior has a nesting of rooms, which includes a large bar, in red and white, with Sky TV, darts, a few pool table in an extension (sympathetic) to the more original part of the building. There is a childrens play area, in grenn and white, and also a nice lounge and restuaraunt area, in the older part of the building, with beams and coats of arms on the ceiling and other really nice features. Service was so-so, the clientele small, but mixed.

Beer; tap stuff, with Otter Bitter and Ale on handpull, the bitter was fine.

To sit in the lounge is really nice, i didnt eat so cant comment on that, the limited choice of beer was still fine, but there was something missing - maybe it was just too big. Try it and see, will be interested in other comments
