Oddfellows Arms is a large open plan high street boozer that had a handful of all day pissheads in during a recent Wednesday afternoon visit. The bar counter runs along the rear wall, the service was polite, but the choice of standard keg wasn’t very interesting. In the left front is a raised seating area that becomes a stage for the DJ booth at the weekend. The background music off the jukebox was loud enough during my visit, heaven knows what it’s like on a Friday and Saturday night. There are areas of seating dotted about, including banquettes across the front windows, but most of the pub is devoid of furniture meaning that it feels very bare. Along the right wall are a pool table and dartboard, the former being played by some homeless people. Televisions are located throughout, these were all off and I didn’t spot any sports advertisements. I’m hoping that I never find myself in Eccles again, but if I do I’ll be walking past Oddies.

A large one roomed pub that doesn't look to bad from outside. Descriptions of the inside are elsewhere but if you do go in its got no real ale and to be honest its not particularly good.

A pub with one massive room which makes it look empty even when a dozen people were in. A slightly raised area to one side next to a quiz machine. There are no handpumps in here and when I called in on a Friday afternoon much of the other beer was off as well. I had a half of Carlsberg which was so crap I left most of it. It's almost impossible to ruin a drink like Carlsberg, but the muppets here managed it. I suspect the lines haven't been cleaned this century. It's a total dump, just don't go in. I don't oftem mark a pub as a 1, they usually get a 2 just for still being open, but this one deserves it.

The Oddfellows Arms looks like a 60s built pub that is in Eccles pedestrian precinct with shops either side of it.
Once inside the pub had a smart lounge where we had a drink,i am not sure if there were any other rooms, when we visited this pub it was a Boddingtons tied house and there were two real ales on the bar we had a drink of Boddingtons bitter and this was a very nice drink the other beer was Boddingtons mild.
We thought this was a decent pub to start our Eccles crawl in.
