This is a two-roomed Holts pub, with the doors labelled Vault to the left and Lounge to the right. There were two TV sets in the vault, one showing BBC and the other ITV; a couple of George Cross flags on the walls may have been covering up defects in the wallpaper, and there's evidence that live music or at least a DJ features from time to time. What I was looking for was Holts Bitter, and luckily that's the only real ale on, though there are numerous hand pumps. And it was in very good condition - one of my favourite beers, and this one was up there with the Hare & Hounds on Shudehill. (In fact, when I went to that pub later, the beer wasn't as good as this, though that may be partly because my palate was a bit jaded after drinking the same beer all day.)

I have to mention the gents toilet in this pub: it was stomach-churningly awful. Not dirty, but very smelly indeed - and not the work of just the last person to use it. Sorry for the detail, but if the beer hadn't been so good, this pub would probably have scored 1 or 2 with me. If the person running this pub can keep the beer in top condition, how come they can't do the same for the urinals? I was the only customer at the time of my early Sunday afternoon visit, while nearby pubs were busy - I wonder why?

The Bridgewater is a Holts pub with a central bar that supports a few hand pumps, badged with Bitter clips, and the usual Holts keg selection. Seating runs up the left side of the bar where there is also a dartboard and small stage area that had lights flashing during my Monday evening visit. I will add that I was the only customer. Down the right side of the bar is a pool table, another dartboard and more seating. Televisions are located throughout for airing live sports, and music via Magic TV. I found the barmaid to be polite, but the Crystal Lager wasn’t the best.

Another trad. arr Holts pub. A nice enough place with 2 rooms. I only went into the Lounge on the right so not sure what the other room is like. 4 handpumps in here all serving Holts Bitter. Its a fairly decent place and one or two benches outside make for a decent, if noisy and fume filled, spot when its sunny. There were 2 handpumps that I could see in the other room though there may be more.

Large corner pub with two good sized rooms. The left hand one is more of a games room with a pool table. The right hand one is more of a lounge with lots of seating all around the outside walls. There were some very loud and raucous regulars in this room on my Friday afternoon visit. This is a Holts's tied house with their Bitter & Mild on the bar. I had a pint of the bitter which was £2.24 in here, pretty much the standard price for the area. My pint was just about OK and turned out to be the worst Holts's beer I had all day on a crawl filled with Holts pubs.

Nicknamed Fraggle Rock! As you can imagine from the regular Holt's characters.

The Bridgewater Hotel is a sturdy looking pub that is situated next to a busy road junction,a short walk from Patricroft station.
Once inside we went into a decent sized bar,we did'nt look for any other rooms, the bar was fairly basic but decent enough.
The pub is a Joseph Holt tied house, there were two real ales on the bar,we had a drink of Holts Bitter which was a very nice drink, the other beer was Holts MIld.
This was a decent enough pub to have a drink in.
