Well described below, this fine Georgian town hotel is a pleasant venue. There is very little parking, which is a drawback if you want to stay here. The food range is comprehensive, the standard menu being complemented by weekly specials, though this is another place that insists on serving chips in ridiculous chipped enamel mugs. There is a good selection of gin for those so inclined, but the wine list is a bit boring. The staff were very pleasant and the clientele mainly tourists. Five handpumps on the bar: Abbott, Old Golden Hen, Ruddles County and Old Rosie were on, the fifth was St Peter’s Ruby Red Ale, but it was well and truly off. A good place to come and spend some time, though the ale quality lets it down a bit.

The review below from Soup Dragon is still pretty much valid, a nice looking prominent corner site building, bigger in stature than most Wareham buildings but once inside the modern stripped out refurbished interior disappoints. An elongated L-shape, restaurant down one end, predominantly green walls, some painted, some papered, part tiled, part carpeted floor, old framed advertisements for this and that. All manner of seating including a pair of sofas either side of an end wall fireplace. Of interest was a bit of a homage to Lawrence of Arabia, he actually had connections to the area and died nearby in a motorbike accident. A TV was showing tennis from Wimbledon, no music at the time. Food served, probably the pub's main function, not too much in evidence late on a Thursday afternoon although a couple of elderly gents popped in and ordered sandwiches while I was in.
I spotted the five handpumps through the window from outside, these enticed me in, Keen's "How Green is my Valley", a collaboration with GK which I left well alone, Copper Dragon Golden Pippin, Old Golden Hen and Maulden's Suffolk Gold. Cider from Weston's, Old Rosie. The Suffolk Gold was fine, I just didn't like the pub, I'm never keen on featureless modern fit-outs. It will suit some though.

A neat looking Georgian styled undressed brick corner pub, eatery and hotel, with dormer windows and a front patio area.
Once inside though, the place becomes a functional, run-of-the-mill foody, basic beery, all-in-one appeal to everyone kind of place. The interior is a large open plan-ish table layout - there was a pool table and a couple of poker tables as well (I assume it was poker night). depending on where you are in the place, the decor is undressed brick, white, wood panel, beige et al. A mix of photos and arty pictures tends to show you if you are in the drinking area, or the food area. We did eat here, and yes, like the service, the food was functional. There were a few other families in, but not much else - the sofas and the other tables remained empty. The TV wasn't on and the music was general and at a decent level.
Beer; tap stuff with Greene King IPA and Abbots on handpull - the Abbots was pretty flat to be honest.
Not really up to much i am afraid - the best feature of the pub, it seemed, is the exterior. There are far better pubs in Wareham.
