E TA left this review about The White Hart Hotel

This 17th Century market town pub is something of a classic, with its original structure and hints of original architectural features. There are exposed timbers, brickwork and bay windows, and a fireplace which has, oddly, been incorporated into the bar. It's currently owned by Hall and Woodhouse, but is still a family run business. Food is good and reasonably priced. There are a few nods to modernity – an industrial grade carpet, jukebox and gaming machine, for instance, but these serve to remind us that this is a local pub with a real history rather than detract from the place. The beer is excellent – two ales on, the Tanglefoot was in perfect condition, served at the right temperature and a beautiful pint. There's nothing flashy or false about this pub – it's a thoroughly good boozer that's worth a visit anytime.
