E TA left this review about The Admiral Hood

This thatched village pub dates from the 17th Century and is of hamstone construction. There is a small car park at the side and a couple of parking space at the front, though these were occupied by horses when we visited. There is a single storey shed at the back which houses a skittle alley. Inside there is a large knocked through T-shaped bar on one side and a smaller dining room the other. There is a very impressive hamstone chimney breast at one end and there is a screen and projector in the bar. The pub is very popular as a food venue, so all the tables were reserved when we came here, though we managed to find barstools next to a couple of friendly regulars. The menu is mainly pub classics, and dogs can join in with packets of treats from the bar. Ales on were Trelawny and 6X, while a third pump dispensed First Press cider. Very nice pub, well worth a visit.
