Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Manchester Arms

Quite an attractive symmetrical façade, set back from the street a bit by a front patio with a couple of wooden picnic tables on it. Unremarkable twin-room interior with the bar at the front and a lounge at the back. Branded as a Mansfield house, it features a range of real ales from the Marston's stable - including Banks's Sunbeam (£1.60, half) - from the six handpumps.

A fairly basic place, looks grand from outside but the interior is fairly dull. Enter to the main bar with laminated floor and little seating, so mainly for vertical drinking. Carpeted rear lounge with tatty banquettes and generally has an air of having seen better days. Dart board in front bar. A Marstons place, six on from the stable and my Banks Sunbeam was a decent drop. This place needs some character injecting into it – feels like it probably had some 40 years ago.

Very much a basic run of the mill pub, fairly busy on my visit with an obviously local crowd. The rather tunneled vision range of beers from the Marston's stable did nothing to endear me to this place.

Old Boots left this review about The Manchester Arms

A Marstons pub where the interior doesn't live up to the promise of the exterior. There's a reasonable front bar in tongue and groove and a rather bland if comfortable rear lounge. Six pulls with Marstons stable beers in OK condition.

You enter into the bar area and are instantly in the way of the darts players, which is an unusual place to put a dart board. There's a lounge area at the rear with some comfortable seating and tables which is a pleasant place to sit. There are now 6 handpumps, all from the Marston's extended stable. My pint of Jennings Cocker Hoop was in good nick as was Ms CAMRA's Banks's Sunbeam. It's not a must visit in this part of town, as there's lots of competition, but it's improved quite a bit since I last visited about 6 years ago and is worth calling in for for one.
