A lovely pub, with encouraging Bass signage outside, but no Bass on the bar once through the door. The interior of the pub is also very impressive, though, with fabulous pillars and ceiling (see photos), and a bar counter with brass rails. There were three hand pumps when I was here last summer, with just Sharps Doom Bar available, and a Sharps Atlantic pump clip turned around. The pub is just on the edge of the busier part of the city centre, and was fairly quiet when I called in on my way out to East Hull to watch a Hull KR game. Seeing my Leeds Rhinos shirt, one of the locals had a chat with me about rugby league - my experience is that Hull people are generally pretty friendly. I'd love to see this pub with a decent selection of beers, but it doesn't seem likely.

Amazing exterior and an almost amazing interior however lousy beer. How often do we hear that? Well it's true here, what’s left inside is fantastic, the ceiling, the central barback and the furniture looks original, add to that the architrave and possibly the bits in T&G, wow. Three handpumps, two in use, I chose Trinity and it was awful, I didn’t try the Crafty Little Brewery and the other was unclipped. Constant hard rock at high volume didn’t help my well being on this occasion, sometimes it would, just one of them days I guess.

This is a really good looking pub on the inside. A great ceiling coloured in green & brown. There's a circular island bar, some interesting statues, a glass porthole window, dark wooden panelling and a good looking fireplace. There's a pool table, lukebox and a quiz machine. Sadly it's all a bit shabby and smelled a bit musty. There's no real ale here so I just had a half of fizz and had a good look around. Shame to see it at such a low ebb.

As Alan states there is no real ale but is worth a quick visit to view the decorative ceiling and the large round wooded island bar which reminded me of a Scottish pub.

an amazing pub with some great people and staff. the beer prices are reasonable and the surroundings are amazing! Take a look at the one of a kind marvellous celling and the tastefully done decoration. The weekends see great music from an even better DJ, Friday night is Karaoke and Saturday is a random anything goes style music night, great fun for people of all ages. In short the Dram Shop is a must visit pub for everyone!

The Dram Shop is a city centre pub.When you go in the bar looks very impressive but sadly there are no real ales on the bar just John Smiths smooth.
