ROB Camra left this review about The Windmill Inn

Down a pleasant alleyway, just off Lairgate or Saturday Market is The Windmill. The alleyway serves as the pub beer garden and is a very nice place to sit in the sunshine. Loads of hanging baskets and planters add to the ambience. There are 2 entrances to the pub, both off the alleyway and at either end of a long, narrow interior. The inside is fairly plain and has quite a lot of dining tables, even though food is only served 12 - 2. The 2 barmaids were friendly and efficient, although the beer range on our visit was rather pedestrian. Luckily they had Ossett Blonde on one pump, so we both chose that, which was in excellent nick. A good solid pub we'll definitely revisit, especially if it was sunny again.

Old Boots left this review about The Windmill Inn

Very long thin pub, reached via a side door off the adjacent ally. The counter is halfway down on one side, Greene King Abbott and IPA plus Doombar with only Old Peculiar to relieve the gloom. Bit of a cooking smell and bargain basement punters. The IPA was fairly good for such a maligned beer but still with hints of the familiar off tastes it’s known for. Probably a once decent pub but now modernised far beyond where it should have been.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Windmill

Side-street pub with an attractive alleyway façade enlivened by some hanging baskets. The refurbished interior is rather plain and sparsely furnished, with a pool table at one end and the counter towards the other. Does now do real ale from three handpumps: Greene King IPA, Tomos Watkins Cwrw Haf and Yorkshire Brewing Waverider IPA (£3.20).
