Old Boots left this review about The Sun Inn

Fairly ancient pub, it says it's the oldest in Beverley, with exposed brick and timbers, the floor is a patchwork of flags, bricks and tiles. Once many rooms it's now pretty much open plan with dining room to one side and up a step or two there's a conservatory like room at the back leading to a courtyard with views of the Minster. Furnishings are mainly traditional pub, the counter looks like it's made from old tables or sideboards. Middle aged and middle class punters on my visit, it does live music so that will vary; it was canned Irish folk when I enjoyed a lunchtime pint from the range of five, mostly Yorkshire beers.

Real Ale Ray left this review about The Sun Inn

This pub is believed to be the oldest pub in Beverly dating from 1530. We called in on a Saturday afternoon and the pub was completely empty apart from the barman. There were eight ales on handpump, which were GK IPA, TT Landlord, Black Sheep and York Guzzler, across two banks of four. This pub serves as a music venue and gets a lot busier of a night, according to the young barman.

Quinno _ left this review about The Sun Inn

An aged pub (close to the lovely Minster) that unfortunately has been messed with but retains a bit of character, multiple areas via bits of knocked through walls and a fairly well done extension. Lots of exposed brick and old slab flooring. Noted Tap & Spile windows to the rear, a former incarnation? Upright piano and some mounted guitars plus stage lighting, so presumably a music pub. 2x dart boards, one of which was the Yorkshire variety. Old pump clips attached on beams and papers. Quiz underway, and I kindly supplied an answer to the team sat on the next table (not sure I was believed, but I was right..."where did the JD in JD Wetherspoon come from?" - answer is Boss Hogg). Four ales on; GK IPA, TT Landlord, Black Sheep and a good half of York Guzzler. Worth putting on the crawl list.

Across the road from Beverley Minster. Beers from deuchars, old speckled hen, ruddles & timothy taylor. Frequent live music nights. The pub serves food and has a dartboard.

Alan Winfield left this review about The Sun Inn

This a really decent pub which is close to the minster.
The pub has stone floors and is a one bar pub which has been opened out but has different drinking areas,at the weekend they have live groups/singers at the front of the pub next to the bar.
There is a good choice of beer here with about 8 pumps on the bar and there are a few micro beers on.
I like this pub mid afternoon when its quiet but you can have a good time here in the evening when it gets very busy with a 30s plus crowd.
