Ian Mapp left this review about The Farmer's Arms

I walked the Donnington Way 2 years ago but this pub was closed. Between landlords.

It shortly reopened with new tenants and surprisingly (for a Donnington Tied House) has made the Good Beer Guide 2024 edition.

I was actually hoping to use their other nearby pub - the Plough at Ford - on this occassion. But this was unexpectedly closed for 2 weeks.

Anyway - here we had a perfect country pub. Packed with diners, dogs, country folk, cyclists, ramblers (us). One spare table in the front bar for us to take advantage off.

SBA as always, flattering to deceive. It looks a wonderful pint but seems to be almost completely devoid of taste. Still, I cannot argue that is was very well kept.

Food good value and hearty. Minor complaints with length of time it took to come and the fact that the pie of the day was advertised as Steak and Ale.

Was in fact chicken :-)

Alan Winfield left this review about The Farmer's Arms

This pub is in the middle of the village of Guiting Power.
The Farmers Arms is a stern looking pub built with cotswold stone, the main bar was to the right of the entrance the door to the left was locked, once inside here the bar was a fairly long and narrow room with normal tables and chairs and there was a large curtain going across the back of this room but i dont know what was behind it.
This pub is a Donnington tied house and there were two real ales on the bar i had a drink of Donnington BB and this was a decent drink the other beer was Donnington SBA.
This pub is fairly basic and seems like it has'nt altered in years but i quite like pubs like this, the pub was serving meals but no tables were laid out and it closes at 2.30 on a Saturday afternoon.
