Wasn’t sure what to make of this one. Located in a pedestrianised section of the City Centre close to the Everyman Theatre this large Greene King establishment is in a group of three so called pubs along with the Old Courthouse next door and the Whittle Taps opposite and certainly looks like a pub from the outside. But it opens early and functions a bit like a café first thing, then a cocktail bar / pub restaurant throughout rest of day. Then gets more pub like of a late evening. Internally it’s a collection of different separated areas around the L shaped bar to the right. There is a large covered courtyard seating area outside to the front which is a good spot for people watching, but you are also in the full glare of all the shoppers as they walk past.
Usual GK offerings of IPA and Abbot but fortunately a couple of guests including a decent St Austell Tribute and a couple of ciders.
It clearly serves a purpose to a range of clientele but I didn’t warm to the place and preferred the Old Courthouse next door, but even that is not really a proper pub.

Open plan L shaped interior with a horse racing inspired decor. 2 real ales & various “craft keg”.
