Open all day - which is nice for a remote pub. One real ale on - but I couldn't bring myself to order a Spitfire, sensing beer may not be their primary reason for trading. Setup as a restaurant, with a tidy interior that wasn't as distinctive as it Cotswold Stone exterior.

I guess you have to accept you're in Cotswold tourist central and lower your expectations accordingly. From the outside you've got the usual attractive stone building much of which has been around for centuries. Once you're in it becomes obvious the design consultants have had their way and you could be anywhere. But it's primarily a hotel and Sunday lunch place so most of its users won't mind that. Beers include example from Wychwood and Ringwood and an eponymous 3.5% house ale. I suspect it might be Brakspear's bitter though it was as bland as a Lib Dem MP and not helped by being served in a glass which was dirty until exactly half way up - you know they way the bubbles stick? The food hygiene rating might explian that. Oh and the food is astonishingly expensive too. £13.50 for a ploughman's? Get away!

Conclusion: all fur coat and no knickers.
