The Albert Edward is a Sam Smiths pub with the usual keg and no OBB on cask. In the left front is a seating area with a dartboard and there are three more seating areas towards the rear of the pub. Out the back is a nice looking beer yard with seating. I found the service to be miserable and I was pleased to leave.

A Sam Smiths pub with all the beers that that entails. Multi roomed and not too bad. A friendly welcome on this afternoon visit with decent banter with the locals. Not great but its ok for an afternoon.

The Albert Edward is situated in the middle of Eccles on the busy church street.
We went in this pub on a horrible cold and wet November night,so was pleased to get in here.
Once inside we only noticed a single room with the bar facing,the room was comfortable enough with bench seating and stools.
The pub is a Samuel Smiths tied house,there was one real ale on the bar,this was Old Brewery Bitter which went down very well,we were quite content having a drink in this pub.
It is a shame it has gone downhill since our visit.

When I walked into this pub there were a crowd of guys around the bar one of which was being served. As I waited right in front of the barman another guy came to the bar and was promptly served in front of me. Whilst he was being served another guy came into the pub and stood behind me. The barman turned around and said "What are you having Shaun?" to the guy behind me. As he was serving Shaun, I turned to leave and he shouted, "Yeah go on walk out". What wonderful customer service from a total prat. It's a Sam Smiths pub with 2 handpumps both serving Old Brewery Bitter. I've no idea what it tasted like, but if it was anything like the attitude I encountered in here it would have been crap. Eccles is a town full of crap pubs these days and this one gets my vote as the worst. Congratulations guys, it takes some doing to get a review as bad as this from someone who always tries to be positive about places. This is only the 2nd or 3rd rating of 1 I've ever given.
