This pub is fantastic for Belgium and euro beers. You cant help but get bladdered in here because the majority of their beer is 5%+! BE WARNED THOUGH TO REMORTGAGE YOUR HOUSE BEFORE ENTERING!!

The landlord can blow hot or cold depending on his mood swings.

Still one of our regular haunts in Salford. Called in again recently to find that the ale selection is still top class as is the quality.

Definitely looks like a cafe bar inside but feels like a traditional publ Room at the back contains a massive TV screen with table seating whilst the front room has seats round the walls and a couple of high tables. Fantastic range of real ales, it's a beer festival every day in here. Does food at lunchtime through to late afternoon/early evening (at least it did on the Saturday we were in). A must visit for the tickers as the beer range changes so quickly. Plenty of other characters in here as well though. We call in every time we're in Salford.

This is my favourite Salford pub and I enjoyed the ales on offer yesterday at their beer festival. Beers in good condition and staff friendly. Good food on offer too. There is a front and back bar here with a good array of handpumps on both, about 16 in total I believe. Enjoyed beers from Bird Brain, Glentworth, Great Heck and Great Newsome this visit, but calling back today as there are plenty more beers to choose from.

Above was my review in Jan 2010.

Back in Manchester for National Winter Ales and had to come back to this pub, my favourite in the area, and what a cracking festival they had on again. Enjoyed beers from Phoenix, Off Beat, Star, Mayfields, Sandstone, Howard Town, Salamander and Revolutions. The beer board for the beers from Belgium looks amazing too. No way I could manage any of them with the cask ales on offer, but it is a pub I wish I lived close enough to walk to.

When we visited this pub it was called the Oxford, the pub is situated just off the busy chapel street.
Once inside the pub had two rooms and we had a drink in the room at the front which was fairly basic but still a decent enough room to have a drink in.
This pub used to be a Wilsons tied house and there were two real ales on the bar i had a drink of Wilsons bitter and this was a nice drink, the other beer was Wilsons mild.
This was a decent enough pub to start our Salford crawl in.
