Large standalone Lees pub on a very busy roundabout. Lees already had a couple of pubs called the Gardeners in the area, so when they bought this one from Boddies you would have thought they might have renamed it. Best of luck to the draymen. A central servery with 3 decent sized rooms off it. Friendly locals, one of whom tried to show me a pretty indistinct feature on the outside of the pub, to be honest I had no idea what he was on about. A couple of handpumps on the bar, but only Lees Bitter available which was in decent nick. It's a pleasant enough pub, but quite a way from anything else. One for the locals.

I visited this pub as I was attending a football match at F.C.United of Manchester,it is very easy to find coming from the railway station, you turn left outside the station and walk up the road to the roundabout and the pub is situated at this roundabout. They have 2 hand pulled beers, one of which was a beer called Plum Pudding from the J.W.Lees brewery it was a very good pint and was obviously well kept. The only down side is that although they advertise that food is available, unfortunately they do not do food at the moment, having said that there is a fish and chip shop called Farrels just opposite the railway station and the fish sandwiches from there are the best I have tasted for quite a while.

The Gardeners Arms looks a bit different from the outside with different coloured brickwork, the pub stands in a prominent position facing a busy traffic island and also at the top of moston lane and lightbowne lane.
Once inside there were a few different rooms and i had a drink in the lounge which was fairly comfortable, when i visited this pub it was a Boddingtons tied house and there were two real ales on the bar i had a drink of Boddingtons mild and this was a decent drink the other beer was Boddingtons bitter.
I thought this was a decent enough pub and it is still open today and is now run by Lees brewery.
