I have been a handful of times since the Old Nags Head re-opened in 2016. Real ale was introduced, then the number of hand pulls was expanded shortly after. At the time of my most recent visit, earlier this week, there was a bank of three hand pulls at the main bar area and one solitary hand pull at the end of the bar. Robinsons Trooper was duplicated, one pump was unclipped, and the other was "Freddy Brewger" - a seasonal Robinsons offering. On my previous visit there had been a more promising guest ale which was by Prospect.

Food wise there is a 2 meals for £10 offer on certain meals in addition to the normal pub food menu. Carvery is available on Sundays. I think they do various themed food nights including a curry night and a steak night. All-you-can-eat breakfasts also available for £5.50 and you can add bottomless tea for £1.

My wife and I went for two meals off the 2 for £10 offer at lunch time and the portions were very generous. We decided to stay for a dessert and these were priced at £3, and again not tiny portions by any stretch of the imagination.

It's just had a paint job on the outside but it looks like there is still some signage to go up, so I will try and get a photo once it is complete. It is already looking quite smart and inviting from the outside.

Service was friendly and the atmosphere relaxed. I'd just like a better choice of real ale.

Currently for sale, according to local rumours, and confirmed by an ad on Rightmove. Re-opened in 2016 after being closed for a while and seems to have been doing well since.
