I assumed that this was going to be a transvestite bar, but it is actually a live music venue. To the left of the entrance in the front window is an old leather armchair and sofa, and then the bar counter with premium keg runs up the left-hand wall facing a piano and mix of second hand furniture that runs up the right of this thin bar. At the rear is a stage that was hosting the Big Hands Psych Jam, which was actually very good. It’s a shame that the bar was almost empty, with all the customers sat on the open terrace on the roof. I’m not really a fan of live music, but I enjoyed my stay in here. I’d consider popping back in if I was passing and was drunk enough.

Called in here on a Saturday evening in mid December. However it was too crowded to be comfortable, there was no cask ale and no keg stuff standing out. There may have been something interesting bottled in the fridge but we stood no chance of being able to investigate properly through the crowds at the bar. We upped and left, so no rating on this one from me as we were only in for a couple of minutes.

Next door to where I have the best, and messiest, kebabs, Abdul's. The pub however is a bit rubbish. As its also next door to the Academy its is very music centred. Didn't see any Sonic Youth or Half Man Half Biscuit posters though. Which is a shame. As noted no real ale. Had a load of pizzas on the bar instead.

The small frontage of this bar is deceptive as it goes back quite a way and has 2 storeys. The roof terrace would have been nice if a heavy shower hadn't made everything wet through. Music posters all over the walls and an eclectic range of furniture throughout the bar. They have live music in here and they also have a good jukebox. There's no real ale sadly and a half of Tuborg was a rip off £2. I quite liked it in here apart from the lack of ale and the OTT prices.
