This pub was where i had my first taste of cask beer long before that hatefull word keg ever entered pubs. The pub was a small tap room with dart board and dominoes and a snug with a very small bar.The pub was owned by the Wilsons Brewery as were lots of pubs in BURY in the fifties. Most of the building was a farmhouse and was surrounded by other farm buildings. There was a mill which was used as a prisoner of war camp, and acouple of rows of houses built by the mill owner i think for his employees. All this has now gone and the area made into a country park with a caravan park.A nice place to visit but it took me back to my first drink of beer in ninteen fifty three HAPPY DAYS

This is a large pub that appears to be concentrating on food and has a good menu and specials board. There were 2 real ales on both from Three B's brewery, but they were not at their best. Large pub with few people in, so turnover of ales may not be good. Situated in the Burrs Park area, so may rely mainly on summer trade.
