Komakino . left this review about The Hulton Arms

Located on a crossroads this is large, probably former multi-roomer pub which retains some character (dark wood flourishes, original fireplaces) but was inhabited by locals of a certain age all bar-seated, ready to stare at a stranger in their midst. Just the sole real ale - Theakstons Bitter at £2.70 for a pint's worth, and which was in good shape. The locals soon forget you once you make yourself comfortable, and most were distracted by the antics of a large dark-haired poodle roaming around, which recalled the much-maligned Roly from Eastenders.
