Review from July 2016
I wasn't too sure what to make of this place as I walked in about 3pm on a Sunday afternoon, The slightly gaudy mulberry coloured exterior was looking a bit tatty and the tattiness continued once inside, its rather large open plan and frankly quite dull and threadbare, at odds with the outside, there were eight pumps along the bar but only three clipped,a decent three though in West Berks Mr Chubbs, Oakham JHB and Bingham's Vanilla Stout, I ordered the latter and was then informed by the guy mopping up the still sticky from Saturday night tables that he wasn't opening until four 0 clock but he didn't mind as long as I didn't mind him cleaning up around me,I didn't and the Stout was good,we had a bit of a chat and it turns out he was temporarily managing the place until it gets sold in the near future, its most likely going to end up as a Bistro, this explained the general run down appearance. Its a bit of a shame as the Manager was enthusiastic and knew his beers and mine was in good shape, but circumstance has allowed this pub to slide.

Malden man left this review about The Mulberry Tree

A fairly large L-shaped space with the bar towards the front opposite the entrance. The exterior is painted in what clearly must be a mulberry colour, this plus the signage interspersed with green leaves gives the appearance of an Irish pub however this is certainly not the case. Inside the floor is boarded and most of the seating is in front of the bar, a section to one side is slightly raised. The section to the side has a wall of exposed brick which looks to have been stained with something, this leads on to a rather bleak looking area to the rear containing a forlorn looking pool table. There is a bit of garden beyond.
There isn't much in the way of decoration, a few prints of this and that and a few stencilled leaves. There are fireplaces each end and a shelf had a fair few games stacked up.
A fairly basic and unremarkable place really except the beer range is decent. There are eight pumps, five were on, Castle Rock Harvest Pale, Box Steam Sin Bin, Dark Star APA (£3.60), Marble Chocolate Marble plus a perry, Pine Tree Farm Pear O Duddas.
A friendly welcome from an enthusiastic barman and a handful of punters all on the real ale. I understand the pub to be owned by the people who have the Magpie and Crown in Brentford. Food served, there were small chalkboard menus on the tables. Worth a look in for a decent pint of something different.

Being a relative new comer to the world of Real Ales I was pleased to find The Mulberry Tree Twickenham a welcoming change. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, they gave me lots of suggestions and tasters. I particularly liked the dark ales. They provide a wide variety of ever changing guest Ales, an expansive selection of Wines, lots of spirits and your standard soft drinks as well as a few alternative. The kitchen was closed when I visited however this was for a kitchen refurbishment and the launch of what looks like an amazing new menu. So ill be looking forward to coming back and tasting the Lemon and Chilli Buffalo Wings.

The Mulberry Tree, Twickenham, was a gorgeous pub. The real ales and craft lagers were all top notch. The staff were all very friendly and helpful when trying to choose from the amazing selection of beers.
The garden, which was sunny for almost the whole day, while a little bare at the moment has some incredible potential. Kid and Animal friendly and they've just put in a new pool table. Overall a great experience and will be visiting any chance I can get.

The Mulberry Tree is an up and coming Real Ale pub. It has an ever changing great selection of Real Ales and traditional Ciders/Perrys. The wine list is a hidden gem with a large quality selection at competitive prices. They also have a super sunny beer garden and a newly installed pool table. Very kid and dog friendly, with great warm and welcoming staff.

The Mulberry Twickenham has been taken over by new management and what a difference it has made. The Real ales and cask ales are all top quality and sourced through various brewery's. Sunday lunch is to die for, with a choice of three different meats and vegetarian options. It has various local bands playing and have a pool table at the rear of the pub. No longer is it dark, but bright and full great people. For anyone coming to the Rugby world cup, this is gem of all gems in Twickenham. Just a 10 min walk to the stadium and not loud and loutish. Families are welcome. I will be going back on every occasion I am in the area. Fully recommended.
