Old Boots left this review about The Hunters Inn

Very much a locals pub on the outskirts of Romsey along the Winchester road, not an estate pub but frequented largely by people from local housing estates. Two bars, in a traditional public and lounge set up, the lounge is larger and has a club atmosphere with armchairs and tables, there is a slightly separated area to the back. The public is the traditional type with a darts board as well as the modern accoutrements of pool table, screens and machines. Mainly set up for vertical drinking there are a few tables and chairs although most drinkers prefer to be near the counter. Three handpumps at one end serving very good Ringwood best bitter and the stronger 49er, nothing on the third stump on my visit. It has a large car park with a rather depressing warning sign.

Steve of N21 left this review about The Hunters Inn

Traditional 2-bar pub with gaming machines, darts and a pool table in the public, and a beamed saloon split in two sections. A lower bit based around a brick fireplace and an upper section laid out for food.
The food menu was quite extensive with a good range of sandwiches and Baguettes and mains. There was also a lunch time offer of 2 meals for £6.00 from a reduced menu. Tried two of the Baguettes and both were good. The beers were Ringwoods Best and Wadsworth’s 6X, both of which were served in good condition. The one barmaid was cheerful and the service was good, although it wasn’t particularly busy considering it was a Friday lunchtime.
So in conclusion a decent traditional pub, and a good place to stop for beers and a bite to eat..
