Old Boots left this review about The Newport Inn

A legendary pub in the area, largely unchanged since the present landlady's parents took it over in 1941 although some say moving the toilets inside and slightly adjusting the position of the bar ruined the place, still this is deepest Hampshire. Landlady Janet is a legend herself in Hampshire. Two rooms, a public bar and a lounge both with older but interesting decor. Janet used to tinkle the ivories for the Saturday night singsong. Beers from Fullers as this was one of Gales pubs, the beer is well kept still. This is a unique and very special pub, it is unlikely to remain so for very much longer, go there and see what pubs used to be like, but please treat it with respect.
