A fairly modern Lloyds No1 which has seating areas all over the place and if you have had a few too many could find yourself easily lost. A poor selection of real ales.

Not the best JDW in the country, and certainly not the best pub in Portsmouth. It is quite large inside, with several lounge areas, bars on two floors, hidden snugs and other rooms. Only 4 ales on, and the pint of Batemans XXXB I had was well and truly past its best. The decor is vaguely European in nature, and you really don't feel you are in a proper Portsmouth pub, bearing in mind the 2 real pubs adjacent. I don't think I'll be back.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Trafalgar

Not obviously a pub when viewed from a distance, and on entering it takes a little while to locate the main bar as you progress through various different seating areas on different levels. There is also another bar upstairs. The whole layout is unhelpful, and although modernised it is very dark inside. Six handpumps on each bar, offering the same limited range of beers - when Abbot (£1.89) is the pick of the bunch, you know you're in trouble!

This building was once the Royal Navy Trafalgar Club, long since closed as Fleet diminished.

Due to location it only has windows to front of building, I visited on a Saturday lunchtime, and after struggling to see in the gloom around the bars on many levels I gave up & left

Maybe they feel it is atmospheric, I disagree. If you have night vision this will be fine for you
