Now has new landlords, not tried it yet but with ongoing pub changes in Havant I think I am due a new visit soon

"Pete Prince, 48, and partner Trudy Knight, 50, have just taken over the The Perseverance pub in North Street.

The couple from Rochdale, near Manchester, have moved to Havant after falling in love with the town when they were viewing prospective pubs to take over.

The pub, well-known for its historic frontage, has been closed for the last two months, but re-opened this week.

Big notice outside, "cask ales & traditional fayre"

Ha, caught me again, no cask ales, just keg, and no food, unless traditional "fayre" is crisps. So choice of bitters was Whitbread Best, or nothing. Actually it was a pleasant enough pint, so mustn't grumble too much

One very large knocked through, fully carpeted, bar, has feel & look like sort of cross between "olde tea shoppe" and someone's front parlour. Only thing to spoil old style look is large TV on the wall

This bar style may cause some to reach for the sick bag, others will love the china dolls over the bar, plates on shelves around the walls, old bottles on window ledges etc. You will have to look at my pictures to judge for yourself, love it or loath it

As in the Star up the road, with only me in here, music was much too loud & intrusive for that

The bench seat I chose to sit on had been slashes I think, at least it had very large split in the cushioning.

Mixed feelings about this one, not one to make a bee line for, but could suit some, I shall sit firmly on the fence & give it 5 stars fro effort
