E TA left this review about The New Inn

A large 20th century pub in the middle of a residential area, knocked through into one single bar, but the divide between public and saloon bars is still marked by the change of flooring from carpet to bare boards. There is a pool table, gaming machines, dart board and tv screen in the "public bar" area. Outside there is a small car park at the front, and there is a tiny smoking terrace and garden at the back. The sound track is provided by punchy drunks and an over-loud juke box. The majority of the clientele seemed to be over-weight, over-tattooed idiots in ridiculous sandals, accompanied by their husbands. The friendliest person in the pub was the pub dog, a German Shepherd who looked embarrassed on his owner's behalf. There were 3 ales on; I had a pint of Ringwood 49er which was in good condition and had been well kept. It's OK to drop in for the beer if you happen to be passing, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here.
