A Hall and Woodhouse village pub built in Edwardian times by a local farmer, not a chocolate boxy tourist pub but a modern working community boozer which hosts a variety of social events including open mic nights, quizzes, poker evenings and games nights. It's a white painted rendered house with a large car park and a paved garden at the rear. Inside, the single large bar is a T-shape and on different levels. The majority of the area is laid for diners, and there is a comfortable seating area at one side. The décor is H and W's rather depressing corporate colour scheme, and the pub was renovated a few years ago after a major fire. The staff were fine, but one or two of the locals weren't that welcoming. Dogs and children are equally tolerated. Three ales on from Badger, I had a pint of Bouncing Bounder which was in very good condition. Food looked good and although we didn't eat, other people seemed to be enjoying it. Worth a visit if in the area and would make a good pit stop if walking in the nearby countryside.
